If water is running right now, shut your main valve off first, then call us. Every minute the supply stays on is more damage to put right afterwards. If you don’t know where the main valve is, find it before you need it — it’s usually where the service line enters the house, or at the meter.

When you call, you reach us, not a dispatcher in another state. We’ll tell you honestly whether this needs someone tonight or whether it can wait until morning — and we’d rather say the second thing when it’s true.

Emergency Plumbing — your questions

Should I open and close my main shutoff valve periodically?

Yes. You want to know it isn’t seized open on the day you actually need it. Do the same periodic check on the shutoffs at your sinks, tubs and toilets.

What counts as an emergency?

Anything actively causing damage or leaving you without water or a usable toilet. A dripping tap can wait until morning; water running across a floor cannot. Call and we’ll tell you which one you have.

Do you charge more for emergency work?

Out-of-hours work costs more than a scheduled visit — that’s true of every trade. What we won’t do is invent urgency to justify it. If it can wait, we’ll say so.
